Chaos damage is the least common damage type, and removes twice as much Energy Shield as the damage value when taken.
Chaos damage is one of the five damage types. It can be mitigated by chaos resistance. Chaos damage has the effect of removing twice as much energy shield when dealing damage.
Chaos damage over time is usually inflicted by poison or other debuffs.
Mechanics
Chaos damage is somewhat rarer than the other damage types, and is more often seen as damage over time rather than hit damage. It is stronger against energy shield, but a character with Chaos Inoculation is completely immune to chaos damage.
Chaos damage is usually used alongside Withered, a stacking debuff that increases chaos damage taken.
