Desecrated modifier

Desecrated modifiers can be added to items using preserved bone currency. Taking this item to the Well of Souls in Act 2 will allow this modifier to be revealed, granting a choice of one of three modifiers. While some of these modifiers are basic modifiers, sometimes in the endgame, an offered modifier may be one that cannot normally roll. Desecrated modifiers take up either a prefix or suffix modifier slot even while unrevealed, and can only roll options for that type of modifier once revealed.

Items with a desecrated modifier, regardless of whether it is unrevealed or revealed, will have a special icon on the item's name plate. While unrevealed, desecrated modifiers appear as a line of green abyssal symbols. Once revealed, if the modifier is exclusive, the modifier will have a faint green gradation at the edges of the item's display.
