Quality
Quality is a stat that improves the signature stats of an equipment or adds additional bonuses to skill gems. Each item type has a currency item associated with it that increases its quality.
Mechanics
Quality can be applied to most equipment (quivers, jewels, and belts are the exceptions). Any item with at least 1% quality will have a Superior prefix when dropped on the ground but not when in the inventory.

For Unique items which grant a skill as an implicit, additional quality will also add quality to the attached skill.
Most items which can have quality can have a maximum of 20% quality.

Quality is a unique multiplier to the related stat that is applied after all other modifiers, including the corruption magnitude modifier, and rounding. Values are truncated after the quality multiplier is applied.
Amount
The amount of quality given by a quality-increasing currency item depends on the equipment's item level. The higher the item level, the less quality each currency item will give. Corrupting a flask, charm, caster weapon (staff, wand, sceptre), or skill gem may cause it to gain or lose up to 10% quality, and can exceed the 20% cap, up to 23%. Support gems cannot have quality added to them.

Notes
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 As of version 0.1.1, inherent skills found on wands and staves now gain an equivalent amount of quality as the weapon itself. This is correctly reflected in the Skills Panel, but is currently not reflected in the gem's hover tooltip.[Likely due to a bug This bug may already be documented in the POE2 Early Access Bug Report Forum.] Global quality effects apply to Wand/Staves and are reflected in both gem's hover tooltip as well as Skills Panel. Sceptres do not currently grant any quality to their inherent skills and their skills are unaffected by global quality modifiers despite them being applied visually on gem's hover tooltip.
