Strength is an AttributeStrength, Dexterity, and Intelligence are the 3 primary attributes. The most important use of Attributes is to meet requirements to use Equipment and Gems.
Each Attribute provides a different inherent bonus. required to equip most equipment that grants Armour,Armour reduces Damage taken from Hits. By default, Armour only applies to Physical Damage.
Damage reduction from Armour is proportional to the amount of Damage, and is more effective at reducing smaller hits. as well as various melee-aligned Weapons and Skills.
Strength provides an inherent bonus of +2 to maximum Life per 1 Strength.
Strength does not grant damage to Skills or any other benefits except where specifically stated.

Strength (or Str) is one of three attributes, along with Intelligence and Dexterity. Strength is required to equip most armour-granting armour, as well as most melee weapons, sceptres, and their associated skills. Characters gain +2 maximum life per strength.
Base stats
Characters start with a certain amount of base strength based on their character class.
- Pure strength character classes (Marauder and Warrior) start with 15 Strength.
- Hybrid strength character classes (Templar, Druid, Duelist, and Mercenary) start with 11 Strength.
- All other non-strength character classes start with 7 Strength.
Strength provides an inherent bonus of +2 maximum life per 1 strength.
