Exposure is a type of Debuff that lowers the affected enemy's Total Elemental Resistances. By default it lowers Resistances by -20% and lasts for 4 seconds, though some sources of exposure can override these values. Like most sources of lowering Resistances, this can cause the enemy's Resistance to become negative.

Higher Rarity enemies are less affected by Exposure:

15% less Exposure effect on Magic monsters
30% less Exposure effect on Rare monsters
50% less Exposure effect on Unique monsters

Exposure is a debuff which reduces resistances against all three elemental damage types.

Exposure duration can be modified by skill effect duration when it is applied by a skill. Elemental Exposure has 15% less effect on Magic monsters, 30% less effect on Rare monsters, and 50% less effect on Unique monsters.

Base Value

The base value of exposure can be lowered further through various stats. Stats that increase exposure effect apply to this modified base value. Stripped Defences adds 5% to the base value of exposure. Effects that specify a different minimum exposure value apply at the end of the calculation if the exposure fails to meet that value; modifiers to exposure do not apply to this minimum.

Increased Exposure Effect

Five passive skills which increase exposure effect are located at the top of the passive tree. There is a passive cluster that contains the notable Overexposure, which has 30% increased exposure effect. This cluster also contains two Exposure Effect small passives with 10% increased exposure effect each. The passive cluster that contains Stripped Defences also contains two small Exposure Effect passives, bringing the total exposure effect available on the tree to 70%. Place into an empty Rune Socket in a Weapon or Armour to apply its effect to that item. Once socketed it cannot be retrieved but can be replaced by other socketable items.
