Shield Wall is a physicalskill that slams your shield into the ground, throwing up walls of earth in a semi-circle. These walls can be damaged, obstruct incoming projectiles, and can hinder pathing. Upon being destroyed either by receiving damage or the character's Slam skills they explode, dealing damage to enemies. Shield Wall requires an equipped shield.
Despite it being an attack skill, the attack damage % used by Shield Wall is derived explicitly from the base off hand physical damage inherent to the gem itself. The amount of damage listed on a weapon in the main hand will not contribute to the Shield Wall damage. Mods such as X% increased Elemental Damage with Attacks found on main hand weapons, however, will increase the damage of Shield Wall if it is supported by Fire Infusion, Cold Infusion, or Lightning Infusion.
Focusing on the Armour value on your shield is one of the methods for scaling Shield Wall damage.
Passive tree nodes that contain the text X% increased Defences from Equipped Shield such as Towering Shield, Core of the Guardian, Spiked Shield, and Flashy Deflection do not impact Shield Wall damage. Instead, they impact the final Armour value added to the player rather than the implicit Armour value of the shield itself.
