Vessel of Kulemak is the pinnacle boss of the Abyss encounter. It is located in The Black Cathedral.
Abilities
Each time Vessel of Kulemak is defeated, players are provided to either "Steal a Lich's Power", reviving and empowering the boss, or "Take the Finger", ending the encounter. If the player opts to steal a Lich's power, they can interact with one of three petrified Liches nearby to empower the boss up to three times (comes in three fixed combinations in a random order) and add a custom unrevealed desecrated modifier to Grip of KulemakGrip of Kulemak
Abyssal SignetInflict Abyssal Wasting on Hit(20-30)% reduced Presence Area of Effect

Let the Abyss coil within.. On the fourth revive, instead of stealing a Lich's power, players are given the option to "Return the Finger", causing the Vessel of Kulemak to revive at full power and opening Abyssal portals and a massive fissure in the centre of the arena. This will also increase Vessel of Kulemak's level between Level 80 to Level 82.
Empowerment type | Amanamu | Kurgal | Ulaman |
---|---|---|---|
Crystals | Amanamu's Fracturing Crystals periodically shatter and spread shards across the arena which explode on proximity |
Kurgal's Grip A nearby crystal tethers a beam to you and inflicts stacks of Soul Drain when you move, dealing escalating cold damage over time; staying still will remove stacks |
Ulaman's Storm Crystals periodically fire rapid beams between several crystals; the beams will flash slightly before firing |
Minions | Amanamu's Horde Summons Lightless Serpents instead of Abyssal Walkers |
Kurgal's Gaze Summons Blackblooded Elite instead of Abyssal Walkers |
Ulaman's Persistence Summons a Shepherd of the Pit instead of Abyssal Walkers |
Enhancement | Amanamu's Deceit Kulemak's Inferno now also inflicts its debuff inside of the ring |
Kugal's Memory Arena-wide Cleave now creates multiple overlapping areas |
Ulaman's Expanse Eyebeam now also creates two apparitions which also fire beams on either side at 45 degree angles |
Phase 1-3
- Melee Swipe
- "Serve..."/"Rise..."/"Obey..." - Summon Minions: Opens up its neck to create a large green orb which raises Abyssal Walkers from the earth.
- Empowered Minions: Summons Lightless Serpents, Blackblooded Elites, or Shepherd of the Pit instead of Abyssal Walkers depending on which Lich's empowerment was selected.
- Arena-wide Cleave: Creates a large marked rectangular area covered by wind before launching a wave of cold damage across the area, following the directions indicated by the wind and its neck movement, then does another wave in the opposite direction. The marked area overlaps both waves.
- Empowered Cleave: Creates multiple overlapping areas.
- "Vision... of endless hate..."/"Horizon... of eternal sorrow..." - Eyebeam: Opens its neck before firing a large green beam, dealing lightning damage.
- Empowered Eyebeam: Also creates two apparitions which also fire beams on either side at 45 degree angles.
- Kulemak's Inferno: Channels for a duration, creating a tracking ring around the character and covering the entire arena outside the ring in a stackable debuff called Kulemak's Inferno, which deals fire damage over time. After a duration, the ring will flash and remain stationary, no longer track the player.
- Empowered Inferno: Also inflicts its debuff inside of the ring.
- "Under his shadow... We are saved from the light..."/"From his prison... Darkness promises eternity..." - Engulfing Darkness: Engulfs all of the arena except a small circle in Darkness, preventing you from dealing damage while in it.
Phase 4
A massive fissure spawns, splitting the entire length of the arena in half. Floating green orbs will periodically appear from it, following the player before crashing down, creating pools of Desecrated ground, dealing physical damage over time and preventing life/energy shield recovery while standing on it.
The crystals on the side of the arena will turn into Abyssal portals will also open on either side of the arena. Approaching one will teleport you to the other side, disabling the pair of portals for a duration.
Crystal mechanics and Kulemak's Inferno are not used in Phase 4. Vessel of Kulemak will always use Empowered Eyebeam and Empowered Cleave in this phase even if not selected.
- "Darkness... Shall find you..."/"Fate... unyielding..." - Teleport Slam: Digs into the ground before slamming down from the sky in an area.
- Arena-wide Cleave: Creates two large marked rectangular areas covered by wind on either side of the arena before launching a wave of cold damage across both sides, following the directions indicated by the wind, then does another wave in the opposite direction. The marked area overlaps both waves.
- "Serve..."/"Rise..."/"Obey..." - Summon Minions: Opens up its neck to create a large green orb to summon Lightless Serpents, Blackblooded Elites, or Shepherd of the Pit depending on which Lich's empowerment was selected.
- "Vision... of endless hate..."/"Horizon... of eternal sorrow..." - Empowered Eyebeam: Opens its neck before firing a large green beam, dealing lightning damage. Creates two apparitions which also fire beams on either side at 45 degree angles.
- "Under his shadow... We are saved from the light..."/"From his prison... Darkness promises eternity..." - Engulfing Darkness: Engulfs all of the arena except a small circle in Darkness, preventing you from dealing damage while in it.
