Azmerian wisp
Azmerian wisps, and their associated Azmeri Spirits, are a type of encounter introduced in Dawn of the Hunt and first found in The Grelwood. It appears as a wisp of light that can be one of four varieties: Wild, Vivid, Primal, or Sacred.
They are somewhat similar to Path of Exile's Tormented Spirits.
Mechanics
Players can find a wisp being tracked by Delwyn, who will assist you in combat during the encounter. As you approach the wisp, it will flee, granting monsters it comes into contact will be infused with the X-Touched effect, grant specific buffs. The wisp moves faster the closer you are, and will slow down if you are too far away. If you remain too far away for a period of time, the wisp will explode in a burst of light and disappear.
The wisp will attempt to possess a rare or unique enemy, granting it the Hunted by X effect which grants enhanced buffs and additional effects to the monster. The monster will also have more rewarding drops, which also scale with the number of infused (X-touched) monsters killed along the way. Hunted monsters are the only way to obtain talismans.
Monsters can be touched or hunted by multiple Azmeri spirits at once.
