Azmerian wisp
Azmeri spirits, also referred to as Azmerian wisps, are a type of encounter introduced in Dawn of the Hunt and first found in The Grelwood. It appears as a wisp of light that can be one of four varieties: Wild, Vivid, Primal, or Sacred.
Mechanics
As you approach the wisp, it will flee, granting monsters it comes into contact will be infused with the X-Touched effect, grant specific buffs. The wisp moves faster the closer you are, and will slow down if you are too far away. If you remain too far away for a period of time, the wisp will explode in a burst of light and disappear.
The wisp will attempt to possess a rare or unique enemy, granting it the Hunted by X effect and granting a certain amount of Empowerment, which grants damage and damage reduction, as well as granting additional effects to the monster. The monster will also have more rewarding drops, which also scale with the number of infused (X-touched) monsters killed along the way.
