Maxarius is a historical figure in [[Path of Exile]]. He was originally an Azmeri whose desire for power and divinity led to his banishment from the Azmeri mountains and his ascension as the monotheistic deity of the [[Oriath]]an Templars, Innocence. Although his original name is unknown, High Templar Maxarius was his identity as the first High Templar to further the founding of his religion. He is the brother of [[Sin]]. After the events of [[Path of Exile]], he was believed to have banished himself to the frozen south across the ocean for his sins.
