Towers (sometimes referred to as Precursor Towers) are nodes on the Atlas that can reveal a large area on the Atlas around it once completed. Additionally, after completing it successfully, precursor tablets can be inserted into a tower to add additional Encounters to surrounding maps. If multiple towers are close enough together it is possible to overlap a single map with several tablet effects.
There are 5 types of tower maps:
Mechanics
Tablet slots
Each tower can grant the effect of up to three tablets, and cannot be further modified or replaced once activated. Each tower can only be used once and will display a warning if attempting to activate the tower with empty tablet slots. The number of tablets you can insert depends on the number of prefix and suffix modifiers on the waystone used to clear the tower map:
- 0-2 modifiers: 1 Tablet
- 3-5 modifiers: 2 Tablets
- 6+ modifiers: 3 Tablets
Tier bonus
Additionally, the tower will also grant a multiplier to the number of total maps a table can influence, based on the tier of the waystone used to complete the tower. This scales up to double the number listed on the tablet at Tier 15+. Modifiers to area level are not counted.
