This article needs to be updated.
Reason: Needs information on how tabs work cross-platform between PlayStation accounts and others
Please update this article to reflect newly available information.
The Stash is used to store additional items for the player. Items in the stash are shared between all characters on the same account with the same league. The stash can be accessed in any town or hideout, as well as certain areas.
Each account comes with four basic Stash Tabs. Additional stash tabs, including specialty tabs, can be purchased through the Microtransaction store. Any tabs bought in this way apply to every league, including future leagues, in both Path of Exile and Path of Exile 2, whenever applicable.
Overview
A basic Stash Tab consists of a 12x12 grid inventory. Each account comes with four Stash Tabs.
The contents of a Stash are shared with all characters on an account within the same league with the same flags. For example, every character in Standard league can access the Standard league stash, but Hardcore Standard characters or Challenge League characters cannot. The contents of the Stash will remain within the league it belongs to in the event a character is moved to a different league (Ex. a Hardcore character dying and being moved to Standard).
Dragging a tab into another tab will create a tab folder.
Premium tabs
Premium tabs have additional features: right-clicking the tab allows you to rename the tab or change the tab color, and it can be made Public.
The contents of a Public tab will be listed on the game's API, allowing them to be searched on trade websites. Items in a Public tab can have prices assigned to them by right-clicking the item in a Public tab. You can also set a set price for all items in a tab instead. All Special Tabs are considered Premium tabs.
Remove-only tabs
When a temporary league ends, the contents of the Stash for that league will become remove-only tabs. Items from remove-only tabs can be claimed in Standard league. Remove-only tabs will be deleted when the player logs out after all the items have been removed.
Prize items such as Demigod uniques will also be distributed using a remove-only tab.
There is an option to hide all remove-only tabs in the Stash UI.
Affinities
Certain item types can be set to always go to a particular tab when ctrl-clicked into the stash, without needing to select the tab. This can be done with:
- Currency
- Essence
- Flask (includes charms)
- Delirium
- Unique
- Gem
- Map
- Socketables
- Fragments (includes Tablets and Trial Keys)
- Breach
- Expedition
- Ritual
Affinities can be assigned to any type of inventory tab (including Premium and Quad Tabs), as well as the associated specialty tabs.
Ctrl-shift-click will ignore affinity setting when transferring an item to stash.
Buying extra tabs
More stash tabs can be bought or upgraded to premium through microtransactions.
Every three weeks there is a sale on all stash tabs during week end, announced by an in game message.
