Revival Availability

Most endgame content allows for a limited number of deaths before you can no longer access the area. Most areas allow unlimited leaving and re-entry for other reasons except while fighting a boss.

Certain Bosses with increased difficulty will gain new abilities and begin to drop exclusive items, and have a reduced number of Respawn Attempts.

Difficulty above 4 has no additional effect.
will reduce the number of Revivals available.

Revival Availability refers to the number of respawns available in endgame areas. In regular maps, this is determined by the number of modifiers on the waystone used to open the map. In Pinnacle encounters, the chosen difficulty will affect the number of respawns allowed.

During the campaign, most areas have unlimited respawns.

Abyssal Depths do not allow any respawning.

Version history

Version Changes
0.3.0
  • Currently, access to most Pinnacle Content requires the same key at the easiest, and most difficult version of the content. This creates a negative feeling where at lower difficulties, instead of wanting to run the content, you're often better off just selling it to someone who can run it at maximum difficulty.
  • To address this, each content (excluding The Arbiter of Ash) will now drop Splinters, which will not form into singular Items. Instead of using the singular, combined item in the Realmgate, you can now just bring your Splinters. Upon inserting the splinters into the Realmgate, an interface will appear allowing you to pick your difficulty, each with a different entry cost.
  • As a result of this change, the corresponding Atlas Passive Trees no longer affects the difficulty of the content, and has been changed to purely affect the content in the Maps on the Atlas.
  • The Arbiter of Ash Boss fight is now a static difficulty encounter with infinite portals (previously only infinite portals at difficulty 0). The rewards of this fight now match the previous difficulty 4 rewards.
0.2.0f
  • Pinnacle Bosses now have unlimited respawn attempts at Difficulty 0.
0.2.0e
  • (Hotfix 3) In Endgame Maps with Bosses, if you now die after defeating the boss it will no longer create a new area and remove all the other content. It will instead respawn you at the previous checkpoint within the same area.
0.2.0
  • You can now respawn and return to a Map if you die. Upon first entering the Endgame, you get up to 6 total attempts per Map. As you add more Modifiers to a Waystone, the number of respawns goes down.
  • You will be able to enter and exit your Maps as much as you like as long as you haven't died. The number of portals is representative of the number of revives you have during the Map.
0.1.1c
  • Added up to five respawn attempts for the Twisted Domain area, based on the area difficulty. If the Breach Domain is completed but you die during the Xesht, We Who Are One boss fight, you will revive at the entrance to the boss arena. If you die before completing the Breach Domain, you will revive at the start of the domain. Repeated attempts of the domain will result in no experience from monsters.
  • Added up to five respawn attempts for the Olroth, Origin of the Fall boss fight, based on the fight difficulty.
  • Added up to five respawn attempts for the Crux of Nothingness area, based on the area difficulty. If you die before killing The King of the Mists, reviving will place you inside the boss arena and begin the fight again.
  • Respawns can only be triggered by the person who put in the Expedition Logbook, Breachstone or An Audience with the King, and everyone in your party will be respawned at the same time.
0.1.1
  • To address the problem of only having one attempt at the Arbiter of Ash Boss fight, you will now have up to five respawn attempts at this fight. Respawns can only be triggered by the person who put in the keys, and everyone in your party will be respawned at the same time. Leaving the Map still forfeits your attempt so you'll still need to fight the boss with the build you walked into the Map with. Higher difficulties of the Boss will lower the number of respawn attempts you receive. We'll be looking to add respawn attempts to other Pinnacle content over time.
0.1.0
  • Introduced to the game.
