Item class: Hideout Decoration
Metadata ID: Metadata/MapDevices/ZigguratMapDevice
The Map Device is a world object that allows the player to access certain areas by interacting with it to open the Atlas.
Accessing the Map Device
After completing the campaign and reaching the Epilogue, players gain access to a map device located in The Ziggurat Refuge. Players will also receive a personal Ziggurat Map Device hideout decoration which can be placed in their hideout and used instead.
Mechanics
Using the map device opens the Atlas user interface. Selecting a node opens an interface which has a 2x2 grid where you place a waystone into, as well as slots for precursor tablets if applicable.
Clicking the "Traverse" button will activates the map, opening a number of portals that lead to the map area. You can freely enter and exit out of portals without consuming them as long as you have respawn attempts remaining. Dying in a map will use up a respawn attempt and remove a portal. While partying, each player has an independent number of respawn attempts as they would normally have, visible as a portal icon next to a user's character name in the party UI interface. When all respawn attempts are used up, the map instance is closed and no longer becomes accessible.
