Mechanics

Wearing these gloves will allow you to use Melee weapons, or Skill gems with the Melee tag, for which your Strength score is as high or higher than the Intelligence or Dexterity requirement of the weapon or skill.

This does not work for upgrading existing gems with gemcutting [Likely due to a bug]. This can be worked around by creating a new gem instead of upgrading an existing one, or by switch to Dex/Int gear to upgrade the gem.
