Connected Support Gems

Two gems are considered Connected if one is socketed into the other, or if both are socketed into a third gem.

A Support GemSupport Gems can be inserted into sockets on a Skill Gem in order to modify the effects of that Skill. They only apply to the Skill Gem they are socketed into.

You cannot use multiple copies of the exact same Lineage Support across multiple Skills, or for Supports that grant global benefits to persistent reservation Skills while active.
Cannot use multiple Support Gems of the same Category in one Skill. socketed in a MetaMeta Gems are Skill Gems that can use, Trigger, or otherwise apply the effects of other Skill Gems. Skill Gems and Support Gems can be socketed into them interchangeably, though most Meta Gems require at least one Skill Gem to be socketed to function. Skill is still Connected to that MetaMeta Gems are Skill Gems that can use, Trigger, or otherwise apply the effects of other Skill Gems. Integrated Efficiency is a notable Ascendancy passive skill for the Gemling Legionnaire that causes each connected support gem to grant additional effects to the skill it's socketed to based on its colour; Red support gems grant increased damage, green support gems grant skill speed, and blue support gems grant critical hit chance.

Mechanics

Support gems count as connected as long as they not disabled and support the skill they are socketed into. They count as connected if they support a meta skill or any skills socketed in that meta skill.

0.3.0c	The Gemling Legionnaire's Integrated Efficiency Passive Skill now actually applies by modifying each skill, which means those modifications also apply to minions from those skills. The description has been updated to clarify that the bonuses also apply in the case where supports and skills are socketed together in meta gems.
