Sacrificing is loss of a resource (commonly Life, Mana or Energy Shield) that does not count as taking damage. You cannot Sacrifice a resource you do not have. Sacrificing Life cannot reduce you below 1 Life, but Sacrifices you cause on others (such as Sacrificing Minion Life) can lead to their death.

Sacrifice is a keyword that refers to effects which deduct a certain amount of life, mana, or energy shield when it triggers. You must have enough of the resource to be able to sacrifice that amount, but it is not treated as part of a skill's cost.

Mechanics

You cannot sacrifice your own Life to kill yourself, but you can sacrifice life from other non-player entities to kill them.
