Mechanics
The fight against Mektul takes place in a long, relatively narrow Aureaduct. At the start of the fight, the back wall will open, releasing molten gold into the channel. It will continue to flow down the channel at a steady rate, thus limiting the time that is available to defeat Mektul. As soon as he dies, the gold cools and hardens.
