...and Protect me from Harm
Ascendancy Notable Passive Skill
35% less Evasion Rating
Physical Damage Reduction from Armour is based on your combined Armour and Evasion Rating [1]

...and Protect me from Harm is a notable Ascendancy passive skill for the Invoker that incorporates your evasion rating into the Physical damage reduction (PDR) calculation, but also imposes 35% less Evasion Rating.

Mechanics

The notable skill modifies the calculation for Physical Damage Reduction (PDR) by treating your evasion rating as additional armour. The 35% less Evasion Rating modifier reduces your total evasion before it is added to the PDR calculation. The new formula for PDR becomes:[citation needed]

PDR = (Armour + Evasion) / ((Armour + Evasion) + (12 × Damage))

Example Calculation

  • If the player's base evasion rating is 10,080 and armour is 119:
    • Applying "...and Protect me from Harm" reduces evasion to 65%, resulting in 6,552 evasion.
    • The total defensive value becomes Armour + Evasion = 119 + 6,552 = 6,671.

For a hit of 500 damage:

PDR = 6,671 / (6,671 + (12 × 500)) = 6,671 / 12,671 ≈ 52.6%

If combined with Acrobatics (which imposes 75% less evasion rating), the evasion penalties are multiplicative.

Important Notes

  • The added evasion does not modify the actual armour value for interactions such as Iron Reflexes or any other effect that directly scales with armour.
  • This interaction allows evasion-based characters to mitigate physical damage effectively while reducing their chance to evade hits entirely.
