Grasping Wounds
Ascendancy Notable Passive Skill
25% of Life Loss from Hits is prevented, then that much Life is lost over 4 seconds instead
Grasping Wounds is a notable Ascendancy passive skill for the Blood Mage that prevents a percentage of the player's Life lost, which is removed over 4 seconds.
Modifiers
The Life loss from prevented damage is not considered damage over time. Life Recoup can offset this damage, effectively functioning as damage reduction against hits.
As recoup recovers over 8 seconds by default, 50% recoup would provide enough recovery to prevent life from decreasing, and would then recover some extra life after 4 seconds. Alternatively 25% recoup would allow life to decrease initially but would then recover enough life to fully offset the life loss from grasping wounds.
