Mechanics

All non-channeling skills will gain an energy shield cost equal to 3% of the player's maximum energy shield. This includes skills with no inherent cost such as granted skills.

If the player has 0 maximum energy shield, no cost will be added. If you have 0 energy shield from taking damage, you will not be able to cast your spells and they will show as disabled.
