Embrace the Darkness is a notable Ascendancy passive skill for the Acolyte of Chayula that removes your Spirit and replaces it with Darkness.
Mechanics
Darkness provides a buffer to both life and energy shield, preventing damage from reducing them while you have spare darkness, but reserving an equivalent amount of darkness for 5 seconds.
Your maximum darkness is 100 plus 10 per character level. The theoretical maximum Darkness is 2310 with 90% maximum Chaos Resistance and Deepening Shadows allocated.
Note that this is not a conversion. Modifiers to spirit have no effect on darkness, and it is not possible to gain spirit in any way with this passive allocated.
Darkness does not reduce the amount of Honour lost during a Trial of the Sekhemas, and Honour will be lost before darkness.
