Expedition Artifact
Expedition artifacts are a type of currency used to trade with Expedition NPCs during Expedition encounters. Each NPC specialises in a specific type of artifact and offers incremental crafting upgrades or unique items in exchange.
Artifact Types
Expedition artifacts are tied to specific NPCs, and each type is used exclusively for trading with them:
Broken Circle ArtifactBroken Circle ArtifactStack Size: 20These can be used to trade with Gwennen or to combine items at the Recombinator.
Black Scythe ArtifactBlack Scythe ArtifactStack Size: 20These can be used to trade with Tujen or to combine items at the Recombinator.
Order ArtifactOrder ArtifactStack Size: 20These can be used to trade with Rog or to combine items at the Recombinator.
Sun ArtifactSun ArtifactStack Size: 20These can be used to trade with Dannig.
Usage
Expedition artifacts are essential for interacting with Expedition NPCs. Each NPC specialises in crafting upgrades or offering item types tailored to different aspects of your character:
- Gwennen: Focuses on weapons one-handed weapons, two-handed weapons, foci, and quivers.
- Tujen: Offers jewellery (rings and amulets) and belts.
- Rog: Provides armour and shields.
- Dannig: Allows the exchange of Sun ArtifactSun ArtifactStack Size: 20These can be used to trade with Dannig. for other types of Expedition artifacts.
Acquisition
Expedition artifacts can only be obtained during Expedition encounters. They are earned through:
- Runic monsters: Found while fighting enemies during Expeditions.
- Excavated Chests: Unearthed after detonating explosives in an Expedition zone.
Incremental Crafting Upgrades
Expedition artifacts fuel incremental crafting upgrades, a mechanic shared by three of the Expedition NPCs: Gwennen, Tujen, and Rog. These upgrades allow players to enhance specific item types gradually by adding modifiers or improving existing stats using the Expedition Crafting system.
